Tata has made history by being the first-ever brand in India to introduce CNG automatic vehicles to the market. The prices of the CNG AMT variants for Tata Tiago, Tata Tiago NRG, and Tata Tigor have been unveiled. These models include identical engine and transmission options, along with a plethora of features.

The CNG AMT variants command an additional premium of Rs 55,000 compared to their corresponding CNG manual counterparts of the Tiago and Tiago NRG. For Rs 8.80 lakh, consumers have the option to choose between the Tiago NRG CNG AMT or the top-tier Tiago CNG AMT, where the latter offers a more comprehensive feature set. 

 

Additionally, the Tiago XZA+ CNG AMT offers a dual-tone option, requiring an extra Rs 10,000 over the single-tone variant. However, the lower-spec XE and XM CNG variants of the Tiago and the base-level XT trim of the Tiago NRG CNG do not offer the AMT gearbox as an option.

For the Tata Tigor, the CNG AMT variants come with an added premium of Rs 60,000 compared to their corresponding CNG manual counterparts. However, it's worth noting that Tata does not provide the AMT option with the base-level XM CNG variant of the sub-4m sedan.

 

Tata has introduced new color options for these three models as well. The Tiago now offers the Tornado Blue shade, the Tiago NRG comes in Glassland Beige, and the Tigor is available in Meteor Bronze exterior color.

 

Powertrain Details

 

 

The Tiago, Tiago NRG, and Tigor are equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 86 PS and 113 Nm. However, in CNG mode, the engine's output is scaled down to 73.5 PS and 95 Nm. Tata has disclosed the fuel efficiency figures for these models, which stand at 28.06 km/kg for all three. By comparison, the fuel efficiency for the CNG manual variants of these models is rated at 26.49 km/kg.

 

Other features and Safety specifications

 

The Tiago and Tigor variants come equipped with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver seat, push-button start/stop, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

 

Regarding safety features, they provide dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rain-sensing wipers, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and a rear parking camera.

 

Competitors

 

Currently, there are no other CNG automatic models available in India, making these cars viable and convenient alternatives to the CNG variants of the Maruti Celerio, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti Dzire, and Hyundai Aura.
