India is set to witness the debut of another electric vehicle with the introduction of the Skoda Enyaq iV at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. Although glimpses of the vehicle have been seen during testing, the unveiling at the event marks an official introduction to the Indian market. Scheduled for launch later this year, the Skoda Enyaq iV will become the brand’s inaugural electric SUV in India. 

 

Here’s a comprehensive overview of what to expect from Skoda’s venture into electric mobility.

 

1. Exterior Updates

 

 

At the forefront, the Enyaq comes with Skoda’s signature grille, which incorporates 130 LEDs, serving as an illuminated segment of the front fascia. The headlights feature a sleek design, accompanied by a slim LED daytime running light at the lower edge. Sharp lines adorn both the bonnet and bumpers, contributing to its dynamic and sporty appearance.

 

Considering the vehicle from the side, one can appreciate the sloping roofline of the electric crossover, presumably enhancing its aerodynamic performance, complemented by the presence of 21-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. Moving the rear, the design discharges a more understated yet sporty appearance. It features an integrated spoiler, sleek tail lights decorated with the ‘Skoda’ branding at the center, and a robust black bumper highlighted by a silver skid plate.

 

2. Interior Updates

 

 

Within the interior, the Enyaq iV adheres to a minimalist yet upscale cabin design, tailored to various themes corresponding to the selected variants. The dashboard exhibits multiple layers, with a central bulge accommodating the expansive touchscreen positioned on the top of it.

 

The Skoda electric SUV features leatherette upholstery, along with an ambient lighting strip that spans the width of the dashboard, and a center console linked to the front center armrest.

On a global scale, the Skoda Enyaq iV offers three battery pack choices including, 52 kWh, 58 kWh, and 77 kWh (net capacity figures). The initial two options are available in a rear-wheel drive configuration, while the largest one provides the option for a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup.

 

In terms of charging capabilities, the Enyaq iV accommodates DC fast charging up to 125 kW. With this, the battery pack can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in a mere 38 minutes.

 

4. Other Features & Safety Specifications

 

 

The Enyaq iV stands as an exceptionally well-equipped electric SUV crafted by Skoda. Among its impressive features are a 130inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver seat with massage function, heated front and rear seats, three-zone climate control, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

 

Regarding safety features, the Enyaq iV boasts nine airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology including lane keep assist, blind spot detection, and adaptive cruise control.

 

5. Competitors

 

 

Upon its introduction in India, potentially as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model, the Skoda Enyaq iV is expected to have a starting price of approximately Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to compete with competitors such as the Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
