2. Exterior Updates

The Hector Blackstorm showcases the striking Starry Black exterior shade complemented by a dark chrome grille at the front. Enhancing its visual appeal, red accents adorn the headlights and ORVMs. Furthermore, other elements of the Blackstorm variants feature dark chrome, including the skid plate inserts, bodyside cladding, and tailgate. Notably, the Hector Blackstorm exhibits all-black 18-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers, adding to its sporty appearance. MG has also incorporated smoked tail lamps for a distinct appearance in this variant.

3. Interior Updates

The interior of the Blackstorm edition receives a comparable treatment. It features an all-black cabin with Gunmetal Grey accents, a black dashboard, upholstery, and subtle chrome accents on the door handles, steering wheel, center console, and AC vents. Additionally, Blackstorm badging is visible on the headrests. However, the Blackstorm edition does not include red accents within the cabin but does offer red ambient lighting.

4. Additional Features

Being derived from the second-top Sharp Pro variant of the Hector, it is equipped with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and a powered tailgate.

5. Safety

Regarding safety features, this variant is furnished with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold, and a 360-degree camera. Nevertheless, it lacks Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

6. Powertrain Details

The Blackstorm edition offers both petrol-CVT and diesel-MT powertrains for the MG Hector and Hector Plus. Both SUVs share the same engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (143 PS/250 Nm), typically mated with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, and a 2-liter diesel engine (170 PS/350 Nm), exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

7. Competitors

The MG Hector Blackstorm competes with the Dark edition of the Tata Harrier, while the Hector Plus Blackstorm rivals the Dark edition of the Tata Safari.
