Mercedes Benz India has introduced the EQE SUV to the Indian market, priced at Rs 1.39 crore (Ex-showroom). This extraordinary SUV is exclusively available in the EQE 500 4Matic variant, representing the top-tier model in the EQE SUV series. This launch marks the third electric car offering from Mercedes-Benz in India, following the EQB and EQS.

Design

The Mercedes-Benz EQE has a similar look to the Mercedes-EQ family, with clean flowing lines and a largely smooth design that enhances its aerodynamic efficiency. The headlights of this SUV feature a slim look, and even the alloy wheels are designed for aerodynamic efficiency. It possesses a length of 4,863 mm and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.

 

Interior

The interior of this SUV showcases the impressive 56-inch Hyperscreen, a feature also present in the EQS model. This setup incorporates three displays under a single glass panel which makes up for a very advanced cabin layout. The seats are equipped with electric adjustments, along with massage and ventilation functions. This SUV also features ambient lighting, a Burmester audio system, an invisible bonnet system, and advanced driver-assistance (ADAS) functions.

 

Powertrain

Being the premium variant in its lineup, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 SUV comes with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD)setup. This uses two motors which produce an impressive 408 bhp and 858 Nm of torque. This is capable of accelerating the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds and achieving a top speed of 210 kmph. The highest-tier model, the AMG EQE 53 4Matic+, delivers an impressive 617hp and 950Nm of torque. It possesses a claimed range of 490km on a single charge. Accelerating from 0-100kph in a reported 3.7 seconds, it can achieve a top speed of 240kph.

 

Range

 

The EQE 500 SUV is equipped with the off-road package as a standard feature, and it operates on an adjustable air suspension system designed to cater to the driver’s preferences. Paired with a 90kWh battery pack, this SUV has an impressive claimed maximum range of 550km on a single charge, and it also offers support for 170kW DC fast charging.

 

Competitors

 

In the Indian Market, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 SUV rivals with models such as the Audi Q9 e-tron, BMW iX, and the Jaguar I-Place. However, it is priced higher than all three rivals.
