Four Exciting Car Launches to Look Forward to in June 2024

The month of May witnessed many car launches and global unveilings, making it a noteworthy month for automotive enthusiasts. As a result, June 2024 is expected to be relatively quieter in terms of new releases. However, it won’t be entirely devoid of excitement, as Tata and Maruti have some intriguing launches lined up -

Tata Altroz Racer -

Expected Priced - Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Tata Altroz Racer is generating a lot of buzz with official teasers released and unofficial bookings already in progress. Set to launch in early June, the Altroz Racer will sport dynamic decals and a range of new features. These include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with connected car technology, a 7-inch fully digital driver's display, ambient lighting, a sunroof, and cruise control. Additionally, it might offer premium features such as ventilated front seats and a heads-up display. Under the hood, the Altroz Racer will have the Tata Nexon’s 120 PS turbo-petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Maruti Dzire -

Expected Price - Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom)

Following the debut of the fourth-generation Maruti Swift hatchback in India, we anticipate that the sub-4m sedan version, the Maruti Dzire, will receive similar updates. Expected to launch this month, the new Maruti Dzire will likely feature refreshed styling inside and out, along with upgraded amenities such as a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a sunroof. Safety enhancements may include up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-hold assist. The new-generation Dzire is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine (82 PS/112 Nm) found in the new Swift, paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT.

Audi Q8 Facelift -

Expected Price - Rs 1.17 cr  (ex-showroom)

The facelifted Audi Q8, globally unveiled in September 2023, is expected to launch in India soon. This update arrives five years after the Q8's initial debut in 2018, bringing subtle cosmetic enhancements and new features. Key updates include the new HD Matrix LED headlights with laser high beams, digital daytime running lights, and various selectable light signatures. Enhanced driver assistance systems feature updates to the 360-degree camera and Audi's virtual cockpit, now displaying lane-change alerts, distance warnings, and other essential information in full HD. The facelifted Q8 in India is expected to come with the same 3-litre petrol engine, delivering 340 PS and 500 Nm of torque.

MG Gloster Facelift

Expected Price - Rs 1.17 cr  (ex-showroom)

The MG Gloster, based on the Maxus D90, is set for a mid-lifecycle update. The facelifted version, already available in markets like Australia, will feature a completely revamped exterior design. Key highlights include a large hexagonal grille with red accents, a new split headlight setup, pronounced wheel arches, rugged cladding, connected LED tail lights, and a redesigned rear bumper. The 18-inch alloy wheels will sport a new design, with the India-spec model likely showcasing additional chrome elements.

Inside, the facelifted Gloster will have a refreshed dashboard with a larger touchscreen, redesigned air vents, and a new center console featuring updated switchgear. Mechanically, the vehicle will continue to use the existing 2-litre diesel engine available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, with no changes expected in the powertrain.
