First Teaser Released for Tata Altroz Racer Ahead of June 2024 Launch

Before its launch in June 2024, the Tata Altroz Racer has been teased for the first time. Initially introduced at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Altorz Racer was also featured at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. This sportier variant of the Altroz will not only feature a slightly more powerful turbo-petrol engine but will also come equipped with additional features.

 

Highlights from the Teaser

 

 

 

The teaser reveals only the half profile of the Tata Altroz Racer, featuring a new orange-black color scheme and an extended rear spoiler for a sportier look. While the design of the alloy wheels remains the same, they are now finished in black on the Altroz Racer.

 

Expected Changes

 

 

The Altroz Racer is set to incorporate styling enhancements for a more dynamic look compared to the standard Altroz. These modifications are expected to include a revised grille and dual-tip exhaust. additionally, dual white stripes running from the hood to the rear of the roof, as observed in recent spy shots, are also expected to be included.

 

To Get Additional Features

 

 

The Tata Altroz Racer is set to offer a range of additional features compared to the standard Altroz. These upgrades include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a new 7-inch fully digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a heads-up display, and wireless phone charging. The safety features will also be strengthened with the addition of six airbags and a 360-degree camera.

 

Highly Powerful Turbocharged Petrol Engine

 

The Altroz Racer will use the upgraded turbocharged petrol engine sourced from the Nexon. The specifications of which are -

Compared to the standard Altroz, its sportier variant will have a fresh 6-speed manual transmission, with the possibility of being provided with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

 

Tata currently offers a turbo-petrol version of the Altroz labeled as ‘i-Turbo’, featuring a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (110 PS / 140 Nm) paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is anticipated that the Altroz Racer will be available alongside the Altroz i-Turbo model.

 

Expected Price & Competitors

 

It is expected that the Tata Altroz Racer will have a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as a direct competitor, the Altroz Racer will go head-to-head against the Hyundai i20 N Line.
