BMW Launches 220i M Sport Shadow Edition in India, Priced at Rs 46.90 Lakh

The BMW 22i M Sport Shadow Edition has been introduced in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 46.90 lakh. Compared to the standard 2 Series sedan, the Shadow Edition features design enhancements, including blacked-out elements. The interior also possesses subtle design changes, while the powertrain remains identical to the regular 22i M Sport. 

 

Exterior Updates

 

 

Similar to other BMW Shadow Edition models, the 220i M Sport receives distinctive blacked-out elements that differentiate it from other variants. The kidney grille and rear spoiler are completely blacked out, while the adaptive LED headlights feature darkened inlays. Additionally, it comes with BMW floating hubcaps. Aside from these changes, all other design elements remain the same.

 

Interior & Feature Specifications

 

 

 

The Shadow Edition includes Sport Seats with memory function, a carbon-finished gear selector, ambient lighting, and exclusive Illuminated Berlin interior trim. The ambient lighting offers six configurable dimmable shades. 

 

The additional features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, BMW’s virtual assistant, and six pre-defined hand gestures for controlling the infotainment system. 

 

Powertrain Specifications

 

 

The sedan is powered by the same 2-liter 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine found in the standard 2 series M Sport, producing 190 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds. The vehicle offers three driving modes, including, Eco Pro, Comfort, and Sport.

 

Safety Specifications

 

The 2 Series Shadow Edition includes six airbags and an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assist as standard features. The additional safety features include Park Assist with a rearview camera, attention assist, dynamic stability control (DSC) with traction control, and electronic differential lock control (EDLC).

 

Competitors

 

The BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition competes with the Audi A4 and offers a luxurious alternative to vehicles such as the Toyota Camry.
