After much anticipation, Renault has finally launched the Kwid Facelift in India on October 1st, 2019. A sleek upgrade (in terms of both exterior and interior) from its predecessor, the Renault Kwid Facelift is touted to be one of the most popular and budget-friendly hatchbacks in the country. The car rivals against the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Datsun Redi-GO, and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and is priced similarly between Rs 2.83 lakh – Rs 4.84 lakh(variant-wise).

Visually alone, the car packs in several new additions, including-aux skid plates, new bumpers, C-shaped LED taillights, a matte-finished Grey-Orange element around the headlamps and bumper, Orange ORVMs, and gunmetal grey alloy wheels. It features an SUV-inspired design with a refurbished chrome grille, a new split headlamp setup (with the main headlamp cluster being positioned lower down in the bumper), a sculpted roof with roof rails and an integrated roof spoiler.
On the inside too, the Renault Kwid Facelift outdoes itself with an impeccable dual-tone dashboard and chrome interior accents. It comes with a digital instrument cluster with LED illumination, an 8-inch Medianav Evolution touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a reverse parking camera, and standard safety equipment including a driver’s airbag, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders and reverse parking sensors. The steering wheel comes minus audio controls and the car features a conventional key with lock/unlock buttons.
The Renault Kwid facelift comes in five levels of trim – Standard, RxE, RxL, RxT and Climber and two BS4-Compliant petrol engine options – the 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre. The 0.8-litre motor produces 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque, while the 1.0-litre variant makes 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque. Both versions include a standard 5-speed manual gearbox while the 1.0-litre variant also gets an optional 5-speed AMT called Easy-R by Renault. Dimensionally, the Kwid Facelift measures 3,731 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width and 1,474 mm in height without roof rails (and 1,490 with roof rails). Its wheelbase is 2,422 mm long and the car boasts a striking 184 mm ground clearance.
The Renault Kwid Facelift is made available in eight variants and six colour options (Zanskar Blue, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silver, Ice Cool White, Outback Bronze, and Electric Blue) and is currently available for booking online on Renault’s website as well as with authorized dealers across India.
