Lexus LM Makes Its Entry into India, Starting at Rs 2 Crore

After initially opening bookings in August 2023, the luxurious Lexus LM has now made its official debut in India. Serving as a more lavish alternative to the Toyota Vellfire, which arrived in India the previous year, the Lexus LM promises an enhanced level of sophistication and luxury.

Here are the details of the prices for each variant of Lexus LM

Variant

Price(ex-showroom pan-India)

LM 350h (7-seater)

Rs 2 crore

LM 350h (4-seater)

Rs 2.5 crore

Lexus is asking for an additional Rs 50 lakh for the lounge-like experience offered by the 4-seater captain seat version of its flagship luxury MPV compared to the 7-seater variant.

Exterior Design

The Lexus LM exhibits a spacious front windshield and a prominent spindle grille extending down to the lower edge of the fascia. Its sleek LED headlights feature tri-piece LED elements, adding to its stylish appeal. On the side profile, the MPV commands attention with its substantial stance, largely attributed to its long wheelbase.

Some significant features include the electronically sliding rear doors and the striking multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, connected and wraparound LED taillights, along with the tall rear windscreen, contribute to its polished aesthetic, making it both captivating and refined in its elegance.

Interior Features and Options

Lexus has provided it with a cream-colored interior theme and a simplified dashboard design featuring two large screens for the digital driver's display and the 14-inch infotainment system. While the MPV offers a range of seating configurations worldwide—including 4-, 6-, and 7-seat layouts—it is exclusively available in the 4- and 7-seat variants in our market.

However, the center of attraction lies in its second row, which is equipped with luxurious and convenient amenities including reclining ottoman seats, a 23-speaker surround sound system, and pillow-styled headrests. Additionally, Lexus provides the option for a second row featuring a massive 48-inch TV mounted on the partition between the front and rear sections of the cabin.

Additional technology on board comprises 64-color ambient lighting, a 10-inch heads-up display, heated and ventilated seats, and a variety of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control and high-beam assist.

Powertrain Details

Lexus is presenting the second-generation LM specifically for the Indian market with a strong hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.5-liter petrol engine, delivering a combined output of 250 PS paired with an e-CVT automatic gearbox. Additionally, the MPV is equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD).

Delayed Release and Delivery

Sharing his perspective on the announcement, Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice-President at Lexus India, expressed, "The introduction of the all-new Lexus LM in India signifies a significant milestone for us as we venture into the domain of ultra-luxury mobility. Since the commencement of bookings last year, the new Lexus LM has gathered immense popularity in the country. We extend our gratitude to our customers for their patience and unwavering trust in the brand. We are confident that we will commence deliveries of the magnificent new LM by mid-year.

Competitors

The latest Lexus LM offers a luxurious alternative to the Toyota Vellfire, serving as a premium MPV option compared to three-row SUVs like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Additionally, it will compete with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz V-Class.
