Here are the main highlights -

  • In February 2024, the Maruti Wagon R secured the top spot as the best-selling car, with nearly 19,500 units sold, marking a 15 percent increase year-on-year (YoY).

  • The Tata Punch claimed the second position with nearly 18,500 units delivered. Its month-on-month (MoM) sales saw an increase of nearly 500 units. These numbers consist of the sales of the new Punch EV as well.

  • With sales of more than 17,500 units, the Maruti Baleno trailed Tata's micro SUV by approximately 1,000 units. However, both its year-on-year (YoY) and month-on-month (MoM) figures have experienced a decline.

  • After the Baleno, five models — the Maruti Dzire, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Ertiga, Hyundai Creta, and Mahindra Scorpio — followed closely, with combined sales ranging from 15,000 to 16,000 units. Especially, the Ertiga and Scorpio experienced a remarkable year-on-year (YoY) increase of over 100 percent. It's worth mentioning that the Scorpio's sales figures encompass both the Mahindra Scorpio Classic and Mahindra Scorpio N.

  • The Tata Nexon and Maruti Fronx achieved total sales ranging from 14,000 to 14,500 units. Although the Tata SUV experienced a 3 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase, its month-on-month (MoM) sales declined by nearly 3,000 units. It's important to note that the Nexon's sales figures comprises both the Nexon EV and its standard variant.
